It's Scottish Grand National Day at Ayr on Saturday, with an eight-race card including the big one as Willie Mullins bids to follow up his Aintree success last weekend.

Mullins is set to have six runners in the Scottish National, while his trainers' championship rival Dan Skelton fires Sail Away and Snipe in his quest to stay clear of the Irishman.

We've picked out a trio of runners for our Scottish Grand National Day accumulator.

    Masaccio to get a break

Trainer Alan King saddles top-weight MASACCIO in the CPMS Novices' Champion Handicap Chase and he can deliver a decent prize after butting heads with the likes of The Jukebox Man and Jagwar in recent times.

He was second to The Jukebox Man at Newbury over 2m4f in November and then third upped in grade/trip at Kempton over Christmas in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase.

In both runs since, he's been third in races won by Jagwar, most recently behind Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero's improving sort in the TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase at last month's Cheltenham Festival.

He's rated 2lb higher now but Masaccio looks well equipped to land this prize back up in trip.

    Diamond to sparkle at Ayr

Like Masaccio, ETHICAL DIAMOND is bidding to better a good effort at Cheltenham with a win here.

Willie Mullins' charge won a maiden hurdle at Punchestown over 2m on heavy ground in February before running a super race in the County Hurdle in the Cotswolds when attempting to give weight to the likes of Kargese and Ndaawi.

He was patiently ridden and came to challenge late under Patrick Mullins, but the stiff nature of the Cheltenham track perhaps wasn't ideal for this excellent Flat racer.

He's rated just 1lb higher now for this Grade 2 limited handicap and should find Ayr is to his liking. There's more than £56k on offer to the winner in this Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle — a race Kargese was touted for — and in her absence, Ethical Diamond is fancied to sparkle for Mullins.

Chart Topper seems apt for Mullins

That man Mullins again, with the aptly-named CHART TOPPER taken to win the Tennent's Lager Novices' Hurdle on an afternoon when the Closutton chief could take over atop the trainers' championship standings in Britain if one of his sextet win the big race.

Chart Topper is a Walk In The Park gelding with two wins from three starts over hurdles so far.

He won at Downpatrick on good ground last August as he pleased and followed up at Wetherby (2m, soft) in January after a break.

Once more, he did that easily and he didn't lose anything in defeat when second at Kelso last time in the Grade 2 bet365 Premier Novices' Hurdle behind a very consistent sort from the Lucinda Russell team in Jet To Vegas.

Chart Topper has his sights lowered slightly here and can account for Queensbury Boy and The Jukebox Kid — a pair with three wins from three hurdles starts between them.
