SCOTTISH MEMORIES OUT OF SUNDAY FEATURE

Scottish Memories will miss the Evening Herald December Festival Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday after disappointing trainer Noel Meade in his latest piece of home work, writes Alan Magee.

`I was not particularly happy with the way he worked the other day, and we found some mucus in his lungs when he was scoped,` said Meade.

The Navan trainer was speaking after his Mullacash had just touched off Liscannor Lad in the four-year-old maiden hurdle at the Foxrock venue. `I thought he would win but a bit easier than that. He jumps brilliant, and we will step him up to two and a half miles for a novice next time,` said Meade, who confirmed that the ground is very testing.
