Secret Rock Makes It a Double for Collins and Gilligan The Cian Collins-trained Secret Rock (15/2) made it a quickfire double for the trainer and jockey Danny Gilligan as he was victorious in the Midland Veterinary Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan. The seven-year-old son of Fascinating Rock was in front before the final couple of flights and toughed it out to win by 1 3/4 lengths from Walk On Win (33/1). Speaking after the race, trainer Cian Collins said: “We have him a while. He has a few problems but we got them sorted,” said Collins. “The girls did a great job with him. They nursed him really and got him in good form. “He did it nicely there today, his work was good at home. “It’s a new syndicate (Country Ways Syndicate). They are 28 lads from Kilmessan, local to us, so it’s great. “He’ll mix it during the summer and could run on the Flat at Killarney maybe, for the boys. They’ll enjoy it anyway.” (Quotes from Gary Carson)
