Serge makes all for easy win at Wetherby

L'Ami Serge ran out a comfortable winner on his second start over fences in the Live Betting At 188bet.co.uk Novices' Chase at Wetherby.

Nicky Henderson's charge had impressed when making all on his chasing bow under Nico De Boinville at Plumpton earlier this month and jockey Daryl Jacob adopted similar tactics this time.

Promptly away, L'Ami Serge got close to a couple of fences but was firmly in control throughout the two-mile-three-furlong heat, with a clear advantage turning for home.

Jacob just had to keep the 1-6 favourite up to his work over the last two fences and he pulled six lengths clear of Run Ructions Run without the rider picking up his whip.

Betfred cut L'Ami Serge to 10-1 from 14's for the JLT Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, while they clipped him a point to 7-1 for the Arkle.
