Seven declared for Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary An interesting renewal of the Grade 3, Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle is set to take place at Tipperary on Sunday afternoon. A field of seven has been declared for the two mile event, with 2009 winner Jumbo Rio sure to be well supported by punters. The most interesting runner in the field is Captain Cee Bee. The nine time winning son of Germany, has not been seen over hurdles since pulling up at Aintree in 2008, a few weeks after he won the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. The since Grade 1 winner over fences and Queen Mother third earlier this year is another sure to be the choice of many a punter. The Real Article & Jack Cool take a step up in class in this contest, but both are well entitled to take their chance, considering their form over hurdles to date. Interestingly stable jockey to Edward O'Grady, Andrew McNamara has decided to side with Jumbo Rio over The Real Article, with Paddy Mangan getting the leg up on him. Muirhead is another interesting contender reverting back to the smaller obstacles having being a bit disappointing over fences. The evergreen Powerstation and De Valira complete the line up for the €62,500 valued contest.
