Shaanmer ruled out of Epsom bid Andre Fabre`s Vodafone Derby possible Shaanmer has been ruled out of the Epsom race after his run in the Poule d`Essai des Poulains at Longchamp this afternoon.Fabre, the 15-times French champion trainer, had high hopes that Shaanmer would represent him in next month`s renewal but that plan was scrapped after the son of Darshaan met with his first defeat in four races when fifth (promoted to fourth) in the French 2000 Guineas.He was a 16-1 shot for the Derby after a hugely impressive juvenile campaign but owner-breeder Edouard de Rothschild admitted Epsom is now an unlikely target.He said: 'He failed to handle the descent here, he became unbalanced. Epsom is now off the agenda, but everything suggests he stays so we will be going to Chantilly instead.'
