The challengers are headed by Clive Cox's Reckless Abandon who could renew rivalry with Kingsgate Native and Swiss Spirit who finished in front of him at Haydock on his seasonal reappearance. That was the first defeat of the Exchange Rate colt's career having won all five starts at two, including a brace of Group Ones. Spirit Quartz and Pearl Secret could represent Qatar Racing Limited; the latter is highly rated but would be attempting to score on his seasonal reappearance while Australian raider Shamexpress is set to make his British debut having settled in well at his temporary base in Newmarket. Sole Power is an old hand at this game but Eddie Lynam's sprinter has shown no indication that his powers are on the wane, opening the season with a smooth success at Newmarket before a slightly disappointing fourth in the Temple Stakes behind Kingsgate Native. Australian sprinter Sea Siren and Aidan O'Brien's Cristoforo Colombo are among the more notable absentees.
