Shimah to reappear in 1,000 Guineas The Kevin Prendergast-trained Shimah will make her seasonal debut in the Stan James 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 3. The Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum owned filly won her first two starts over six furlongs at the Curragh before finishing second there behind Again over an extra furlong in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes. 'She's doing very well and will probably have her first run of the season at Newmarket in the Guineas,' confirmed Prendergast. 'I don't think we'll run her beforehand, but we'll probably give her a bit of work on a racecourse. She's done very well over the winter.' The daughter of Storm Cat is 16/1 with the sponsors for the 1000 Guineas.
