The Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes is likely to be the next port of call for Balantina after a fine run at Royal Ascot last week.

Donnacha O’Brien’s charge finished third to Venetian Sun in the Albany Stakes on Friday.

She held an engagement in the Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh this Saturday but connections decided not to go there after she met with a slight setback yesterday.

“She just gave herself a little bang this morning (Wednesday), nothing serious, but it made up our mind not to run,” said O’Brien.

“She’ll probably go now for the Silver Flash at Leopardstown (on July 24th).”

Balantina beat stable Cape Sounion when winning her maiden at the Curragh last month and that filly runs at HQ tomorrow evening.

“We always thought she was a smart filly. We are putting a hood on her and it’s a competitive race, but we think she’s nice and hopefully she will run well.”
