Simonsig could make his first appearance in over two and a half years at Exeter on Tuesday after featuring among 15 entries for the Sportingbet Haldon Gold Cup.

Nicky Henderson's grey has not been seen in competitive action since making it three from three over fences in the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham in March 2013, but looks to be closing in on a comeback.

Last year's Haldon Gold Cup hero God's Own is in line to defend his crown for Tom George, while Gary Moore's multiple Grade One winner Sire De Grugy has the option of making his seasonal bow.

Court Minstrel could return to the chasing game for the in-form yard of Evan Williams after a shock victory in Chepstow's Silver Trophy over hurdles.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has both Mr Mole and Vibrato Valtat in contention.

Other contenders include Baby Mix, Melodic Rendezvous and Third Intention.
