Sir Rembrandt Fine After Cheltenham Run

Sir Rembrandt has 'come back OK' after being pulled up on his reappearance at Cheltenham.

The Robert Alner-trained gelding has finished second and third in the last two runnings of the Cheltenham Gold Cup and he usually reserves his best performances for the Prestbury Park circuit.

But he was tailed off before being pulled up approaching three out by Andrew Thornton in the Servo Computer Services Trophy Handicap Chase on Saturday.

'He´s fine this morning. He came back OK,' Alner said yesterday. 'Andrew just said they quickened away from him down the back straight.

'Although he likes soft ground, with the weight his feet got stuck in the mud down the back straight and it being first time out it just found him out a bit.

'I´m not unduly worried about that run, it will have brought him on a ton and I´d be looking for a much better run next time.

'I want to run him sooner rather than later to take advantage of the run. The difficulty is finding races for him. The Rehearsal up at Newcastle (November 26) is an option and I think there is a race at Cheltenham on December 9 (Mears Group Chase) for him.'
