Sisters secure Gowran double Thrifty Of Digby (5/1f) followed sister Gloriously Glam in winning at Gowran today, providing trainer Jessica Harrington and stable jockey Shane Foley with doubles in the Support The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap. Ex-Harrington-trained Gloriously Glam had won the earlier claiming race, with Thrifty Of Digby returning to form today having disappointed at Roscommon in July. A course winner when making all the running last October, Thrifty Of Digby again adopted front-running tactics today and battled well for a neck win over Dragon Of Malta. Harrington’s daughter and assistant Kate Harrington reported “ Thrifty Of Digby had three weeks out in the field so was fresh, and was just ready to start back. It was kind of a stepping stone for a fillies handicap in Punchestown, so we’ll go there next. Hopefully we have a nice autumn with her and I think she’s actually after growing. “She’s a lovely filly and I’d imagine Pat (Harty, owner) will keep her in training next year as well. “It was nice to see that her full-sister, Gloriously Glam, won earlier for Ado (McGuinness).” Harrington and Foley had earlier combined to win with Lavender Breeze.
