Sky Lantern gets her Coronation Sky Lantern confirmed the fillies' pecking order with a brilliant four-length victory in the Coronation Stakes. Richard Hughes had endured a tough time to this point at the Royal meeting and again appeared to be looking down the barrel when the 1000 Guineas winner was well down the pack turning into the home straight. However, as the frontrunners started to backpedal, Hughes brought the 9/2 joint-favourite with an irrepressible challenge down the outside of the pack to collar old rival Just The Judge and the pair quickly galloped clear for a four-length success. French-trained 33/1 chance Kenhope emerged with considerable credit in second, with Just The Judge (5/1) best of the rest in third. "It's the most amazing feeling," said owner Ben Keswick, for whom this filly is his first horse in training with Richard Hannon. "Well done to her, well done to the Hannons, well done to everyone. She'll be coming back to home in the future [as a broodmare] and it's just brilliant."
