Andy Slattery is looking forward to getting Sunchart started over hurdles at Punchestown this month (15th).

The son of Teofilo is rated 103 on the Flat after being pipped by a short head in Listed class at Naas in November, but is set for a switch to flights.

Slattery, speaking during his recent racing story (https://www.irishracing.com/blogs/My-Racing-Story-Andy-Slattery/237510), said: "He might not be over yet because we brought him to the Curragh to school over hurdles and he is electric over them. He could be anything over hurdles.

"He has a fair engine and he showed a lot of aptitude for it the other day in the Curragh. He'll be ready to run in a maiden hurdle in about four weeks.

"He loves soft ground and tolerates better ground."

Sunchart was eighth in the Irish Derby of 2020 behind Santiago. The five-year-old gelding has accumulated earnings of over €90,000 on the Flat.
