Slattery set for six weeks on sideline Willie Slattery will be out of action for six weeks following his fall from Crimson Flower in yesterday’s Galway Hurdle.Dr Walter Halley, Turf Club Medical Officer, today revealed that the jockey suffered three broken ribs and a severely bruised kidney on his right side after being unseated from his mount.Slattery is set to be released from hospital in the next 24 hours. He had initially been stood down for 21 days but following scans, revealing the extent of his injuries, that was increased to six weeks.
