Cherry Hill Girl (13/2, from 10s before the off) made most to easily win the day two opener at Listowel, the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden (Smullen Series).

Drawn in stall one, Andy Slattery had the Belardo filly in front after a furlong and was able to set steady fractions at the head of affairs. Pushed clear early in the straight, the winner had the race in safe keeping passing the furlong pole and came home five and a half lengths in front of World Tour

Bought for 6,000 Euro at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale by her owner Bill Ryan, Cherry Hill Girl was stepping up to a mile for the first time and had excuses for a poor run when favourite at Galway on her previous start.

Trainer Andy Slattery explained: "Her run in Galway was a bit of a disappointment but she broke badly, was racing on the outside and was racing away from horses. She was hanging left and was ducking away from them.

"We thought she was a nice filly going to Leopardstown (third on debut) and I think she still is a nice filly.

"She is in the final of this auction series in Naas (October) off a low weight so that is her next port of call."
