Martin Hassett and Liam McKenna teamed up for a 160/1 double as Soloman Lane again showed his liking for testing ground conditions in the 2m4f Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Chase at Navan.

The Sakhee gelding survived a bad mistake at the second fence but got into the argument in the straight and there were still plenty in contention at the second-last.

The easy-to-back 22/1 chance quickened to the front approaching the last and held off a couple of challenges on the run-in.

McKenna’s mount found enough to hold off Bridie’s Beau by a head with Binge Worthy just half a length further back in third.

Hassett and McKenna were also on the mark in the previous 2m handicap chase with Battle Of Ridgeway (6/1).

McKenna was partnering his first double and said, “He probably needed it the last day and it left him spot on for today. Although we did a few things wrong, he still got there.

"Loves it (testing ground) - I suppose he's old and he's quite a heavy-set horse; he does appreciate that ground and he motors through it.

"He did (pick up strongly), probably was there a bit soon but I had never hit the front on him before. Just needing company up the straight."
