Solwhit is on target to return to action in the woodiesdiy.com Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown on December 28th.

Winner of the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, the Charles Byrnes-trained nine-year-old followed up in the Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree a month later before finishing second to Gemix at Auteuil in June.

"He's good and on target for Leopardstown," said Byrnes.

"He had a break after Auteuil so he was late coming back in. That's why he's just ready to start off now."

Another Byrnes star seeking Grade One glory at Leopardstown's Christmas Festival is Trifolium.

He is on course for the Racing Post Novice Chase, with his trainer hoping he can settle better than he did on his latest start at Navan earlier this month when he was beaten 15 lengths by Felix Yonger.

"He'll probably run at Leopardstown in the Racing Post," said the Co Limerick handler.

"He's in good form. If he could settle better, he'd have a better chance. He ran a bit too free the last day, but he's a very good horse and he'll take his chance."
