Soprano set for Goodwood fillies race Paul Deegan is leaning towards running his improving mare Midnight Soprano in the iShares Fillies Stakes at Glorious Goodwood rather than the Goodwood Cup. She was thwarted in her bid for a six-timer behind John Oxx's St Leger possible Hartani in the Curragh Cup when last seen. "Midnight Soprano will probably go for the iShares Fillies' Stakes (registered as the Lillie Langtry)," said Deegan. "She is in excellent form and has thrived since her last run. She did a brilliant piece of work on Tuesday and I couldn't be happier with her. "She has matured with age but we have always thought a fair bit of her even as a two-year-old. I had her full-sister who also progressed very well with age and it's a lovely family. "I think there is plenty more to come and she will probably be even better next year as well. "We will be hoping for some proper good ground at Goodwood. She has been getting away with it on the soft ground but she does want better ground."
