St Nic a Champion Stakes entry St Nicholas Abbey features among 34 acceptors for the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket on October 16th. Aidan O'Brien's charge went into winter quarters as a red-hot favourite for the 2000 Guineas and Derby but after meeting with defeat in the first Classic, he suffered a setback while being prepared for Epsom and hasn't raced since. He is among a strong Ballydoyle entry which also includes Fame And Glory, Rip Van Winkle and Cape Blanco. 2000 Guineas winner Makfi could return to Newmarket while Snow Fairy has been left in by Ed Dunlop.
