Stanley Chin Serving At Ballydoyle

Stanley Chin, who was involved in a race-fixing scandal in Hong Kong in 1996 and subsequently served a three-year sentence, has been employed at Ballydoyle as a work rider, and is currently being considered by the Turf Club for a jockeys licence.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien said on Wednesday: 'Everybody deserves a second chance and we are hoping Stanley's application will be successful. He came here during the winter and is a very good work rider.

'He rides most of the serious work along with Seamus Heffernan, Colm O'Donoghue, Tom Queally, Pat Cosgrave and Evandro Pacheco, a Brazilian who has ridden abroad.

Chin, who enjoyed a successful spell with Mark Johnston in 1996, also rode for Bruno Schutz in Germany.

Denis Egan, chief executive of the Turf Club, said on Wednesday: 'Stanley Chin has been interviewed by our licensing committee and they are awaiting some further information before making a decision.'
