Star Mind flies home under Burns in division 2 Star Mind showed a tremendous turn of foot coming from last to first under Nicola Burns to land division two of the Curragh To Curragh Cycle On 30th August Handicap at Naas. The Ger O’Leary-trained filly was last over two furlongs and after being switched to the outer, still only had a couple of her 15 rivals behind entering the final furlong. However, the 11/2 shot really got motoring inside the final 150 yards and led close home to beat topweight White Clover by half a length. Send Harry was a further half a length away in third with Lady Pagasa completing the places in fourth. O’Leary said, “Nicola said she missed the start which probably suited her, and she loved the ease in the ground. She came home best of all. “Ciaran O’Toole bought this filly for four grand for me privately and I just found out he bought the winner of the previous race for small money privately as well.”
