Starborn Legend scores for Sheridan & O’Brien Jockey Joey Sheridan filled in for a winning spare ride on Starborn Legend (6/4f) in Gowran’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden today, scoring for owners Millenium Stud and trainer Joseph O’Brien. Group 1-winner Sheridan had filled in for sidelined champion jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle both at the beginning of the season and again in recent days, and today raced prominently on Starborn Legend, who held on for a short-head success over Keogie . Sheridan, whose biggest win came on Princess Zoe in the 2020 Prix du Cadran, commented "myself and Siobhan (Rutledge, on runner-up Keogie) got it handy enough in front. I had planned to be there (in front) but we just gave them half a length out of the stalls so I just had to sit. Siobhan went lovely fractions for us up front anyway. “I always felt I was holding Keogie and while it probably looked like he made hard work of it, I felt I always had the measure of the runner-up.
