Star's half-brother could begin at Gowran Kauto Relko, a half-brother to Kauto Star, could begin his career under Rules tomorrow, three days after his star sibling's thrilling reappearance at Haydock, if the meeting at Gowran Park gets the go ahead in the morning. This five-year-old held every chance when falling at the last in a point-to-point won by Thomond O'Mara's Kilcascan at Dawstown back in May on his first appearance in public. Second time up, a fortnight later at Bartlemy, again with Richie Harding up, the son of With The Flow put in a repeat performance by departing at the last. This time he was finding no extra in third when coming down in a race that went to Tell Massini. The last-named was sold for £30,000 the following Wednesday at Doncaster. That was certainly money well-spent as he has gone on to take two hurdles at Chepstow and Cheltenham for Tom George. He is now a best-priced 20/1 for the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. Liam Burke trains the French-bred for Graham Roach and he has booked Paul Townend to ride in this two-miler. He commented of Kauto Relko: "He was unlucky the first day on good ground and it was heavy the second day and he wouldn't quite get three miles on that ground. "He is big and raw and he has needed all the time that he has got. I'd expect a good run from him if the meeting goes ahead but he would probably want better ground. He is no Kauto Star but he is a fair beast and fences will be his game in time to come." Meanwhile the Tranquil Sea connections, Edward O'Grady, Andrew McNamara, Nelius Hayes and Dermot Cox introduce Out Now in the same contest. This fellow won his two point-to-points back in the spring of 2008 when trained by Roger McGrath for his wife Helaine. This Porters Saddlery Maiden Hurdle (division two) will see plenty of horses also line-up with decent racecourse form to their names so it promises to be an interesting heat at 2.05.
