Sugar Boy sold The Patrick Prendergast-trained Sugar Boy has been purchased privately by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, principal owner for Mike de Kock and owner of the likes of Moohaajim and Mickdaam who were both trained in the UK. The son of Authorized won the bet365 Classic Trial at Sandown on April 26 where he beat Galileo Rock and Libertarian who were both subsequently placed in the Investec Derby. Sugar Boy hasn't run since but goes for the Irish Derby on June 29, where he will run for Prendergast, before he is transferred to a new trainer after his run. "Sugar Boy is in great form and we are very much looking forward to the Irish Derby on Saturday. We welcome Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum to the yard and hope that we are lucky for him," said Prendergast.
