Suit stars at Goodwood Strong Suit proved he was right back to his best with an ultra-smooth victory in the bet365 Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Richard Hannon's colt began the season with a well below-par effort in the Greenham Stakes where he was last of sixth behind Frankel. That performance prompted a breathing operation and since then he's won the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot and was a close third in the Prix Jean Prat so he came to the Glorious Meeting in good form. Sent off the 5-2 favourite, backers didn't have an anxious moment as Richard Hughes perched confidently on the Rahy colt as his rivals were under the pump. He asked his mount to quicken inside the final furlong and he quickly put the race to bed, the one-length winning distance not doing his real authority justice. Red Jazz (7-1) finished second with Beacon Lodge (16-1) a further head back in third. Assistant trainer Richard Hannon junior said: "His win at Ascot was very good and he ran well in France. He might be a horse for the Sussex Stakes next year. "I think he will get a mile in time but there are so many nice races like this for him to mop up. "There's the Hungerford Stakes and the seven-furlong Group One in France, the Prix de la Foret. "There are plenty of options for him." Hughes added: "What ever he did in France the last day, he definitely wasn't the same horse he was today or in Ascot. "He gave me a terrible ride to the start in France. I asked one of the guys if he got stung in the parade ring as he was a horrible ride and got very worked up. "Today he was beautiful going to the start and was a different horse. "When he's good, he's good."
