Super Bowl a first for the Supremes The Supreme Horse Racing Club will break new ground at Gowran Park on Wednesday when Super Bowl becomes the syndicate's first two-year-old runner. With the successful club's horses trained exclusively by Willie Mullins, the bulk of its success has unsurprisingly come under National Hunt rules, enjoying winners at the Punchestown Festival for the last two years and having runners at Cheltenham. However, the Royal Ascot triumph of club star Pique Sous last summer gave the team a taste of big-race glory on the level and they now send out their first juvenile representative as Super Bowl lines up for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden. Supreme's racing manager, Steve Massey, said: "It's an interesting new venture for us and hopefully it will be good fun for all his owners. "Being primarily involved with National Hunt horses, it's nice to have something a bit different. "Hopefully he's quite a nice horse. We're in against all the big guns and if he can finish in the first four or six we'll be really pleased. "The yearling sales in France and Ireland are coming up, so if he runs well, I'm sure we'll look to buy another."
