Swan Considering Ball Plans

Charlie Swan is undecided about Ground Ball's participation in Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup as he would like to see the Cheltenham ground ease a little.

His gelding was second to Impek in an eventful William Hill Gold Cup at Exeter last week, helped in no small part by Racing Demon bringing down Chilling Place.

'He's just 50-50 to run, I'd say,' reported Swan.

'The horse is fine, I just wouldn't like to run him on ground that's too quick so I'll just play it up and decide in a few days.

He added: 'I was happy enough with his run at Exeter. He's fairly exposed and getting on a bit, and I think he may want a slightly longer trip these days.'

Ground Ball is one of 28 horses left in Saturday's feature with the weights set to be headed by Nicky Henderson's Fondmort.
