Talas Kera well in command in nightcap Talas Kera was a facile winner of Division 2 of the mares' handicap hurdle in Gowran Park under Eoghan Finegan. She improved to lead approaching the home bend and increased her margin two out. Finegan could soon afford a peek over his shoulder and his partner glided clear on the approach to the last. The jockey was virtually motionless as she strode away on the run-in to win as she pleased by nine lengths at 7/2. Online Order was a remote second at 18/1. Tropical Twist filled the third-place berth at 10/1. Talas Kera had signalled that a first victory was forthcoming when second over a slightly further trip at this venue last month. John Carr said: "It's a while coming. She was fourth in her bumper first time out for us as a young horse about a year ago. She has been knocking on the door. "We had a lot of trouble with her at the beginning of the season, a lot of the time. You have to hit her on the right day. She was second here the last day and won today now. "Her jumping has improved a lot. It was poor early on, but we brought her to Robbie Power and he did a few sessions with her there probably in the last six weeks. It definitely worked for her. He had her jumping out of his hands in the end. "She's on the go now since the summer time.
