A running-on runner-up at Gowran Park yesterday, the Conor Maxwell-trained Tariff landed the concluding Gambling Responsibly With 1xBet.ie Handicap at the Curragh this afternoon.

The Breen White-owned three-year-old was adding to his narrow success at Thurles earlier this month.

Julian Pietropaolo tracked the leaders on the 100/30 favourite and led with 100 yards to race to beat Paul Sweeney's 16/1 shot God Knows by half a length, with the same distance back to Charles Byrnes' 4/1 chance Mythical Rock in third place.

“He was tough. I thought yesterday might have taken the shine off him a bit but we took him out for a pick of grass this morning and he was good and well in himself,” said Maxwell.

“He jumped and travelled, which is something he doesn't usually do. He toughed it out well.

“Hopefully he can progress a bit more next year as a four-year-old.

“There is a race in Galway for him next week but he's after having two hard races and Thurles was a tough race too.

“He's still only a whippet of a horse so we might give him a bit of time. We'll see how he comes out of it.”
