Ten And Out

Leading Breeders´ Cup Classic fancy Rock Hard Ten was ruled out of the Belmont Park feature after suffering an injury.

The four-year-old colt was due to be ridden by Gary Stevens but trainer Richard Mandella discovered a problem with the horse´s right foot following a gallop on Friday.

'It´s nothing serious,' Mandella told www.thebloodhorse.com.

'It´s just a temporary condition and he´ll miss about two weeks of training.

'I guess it just wasn´t meant to be. It´s disappointing, but the horse is OK.'

Mandella´s charge, who had received treatment on a bruised foot all week, was as low as 7-2 with Coral to win the Classic after he registered victories on his last four outings at Santa Anita.
