Testing ground ahead of busy period The ground remains very testing right around the country ahead of a busy spell of domestic action with no less than 12 meetings scheduled over the following week. The enclosures should be packed at Limerick this afternoon for their annual student raceday, with the going currently described as heavy, soft to heavy in places. The first on an eight-race card gets underway at 2pm. The ground also remains heavy (soft to heavy in places) at Naas where a rescheduled Flat meeting takes place tomorrow afternoon, while racing returns in the west tomorrow with a jumps fixture at Ballinrobe. A hurdle race is being divided to form a six-race card at the Co Mayo track after the chase course was found to be unfit for racing earlier this week. Leopardstown hosts some classic trials on Saturday, while on Sunday it's further Flat action at Cork and jumping at Tramore. The ground is currently heavy at both venues.
