Cork Racecourse hosts a student race-day at Mallow this afternoon with a large attendance expected from third level colleges such as CIT and UCC.

The going remains heavy despite no overnight rain, and the first on a seven-race jumping card gets underway at 2.45pm.

Looking ahead to the weekend and the main Flat action centres on Leopardstown where the going is currently described as soft following a further 2mm of rain overnight.

The weather forecast remains unsettled both for today and tomorrow.
