The next generation of trainers & breeders visit Naas Students from the National Stud’s Thoroughbred Breeders Course had an evening to remember at Naas racecourse on Wednesday. The 17 students from 7 countries, Ireland, England, France, Australia, New Zealand, America and India, attended Naas as part of their studies that cover all aspects of the thoroughbred industry. Sally Carroll from the National Stud explained: “The thoroughbred breeders’ course at the National Stud is one of the oldest of its type in the world. The course was founded in 1972 by Michael Osborne and the students are with us from February until they graduate in July. As well as their studies, the students form an important part of the team here at the National Stud. They are involved in all aspects of the running of a busy stud farm.” “They had a wonderful evening at Naas and we are indebted to racecourse manager Tom Ryan who went out of his way to ensure it was a memorable experience. We would also like to thank Bobby O’Ryan, Kevin O’Ryan, the trainers and jockeys and members of the public at Naas who made all the students feel most welcome.” The students presented the ‘best turned out’ awards for each of the races at Naas.
