Titanic Task For Thunder

County Armagh Trainer Keith Watson has set his Maiden Chaser Celtic Thunder a stiff task at Down Royal on Saturday by pitching the seven year old in against a quality field for the Grade two Titanic Belfast Steeplechase.

Watson ran four horses in the same contest last year and picked up place prizemoney with both Finea and Raydari and is again hoping to sneak into the money with Celtic Thunder.

"There are only seven declared and the first six home will get prizemoney so with the ground likely to be quick enough you never know but realistically he is more a social runner," said Watson.

"The horse is coming back from a few niggling problems and will probably need the run but it a nice reintroduction for him in a small field."

"This will be the first time the members of the Thundering Home Partnership (owners of Celtic Thunder) will have met each other as we recently syndicated the horse."

"They are all very excited about having a runner on such a big day's racing and we may need to finish in the money just to pay the drinks tab."

Celtic Thunder has so far failed to win a race under rules but he won a pair of Point-to-Points last year at Durrow and Oldtown.
