Title rivals set for busy night at Dundalk

Colin Keane and Pat Smullen have full books of rides at Dundalk on Tuesday evening as the battle to be crowned champion jockey continues at the Co Louth venue.

Keane extended his lead over Smullen to four at Tipperary on Sunday, and both will be hopeful of further success on this eight-race card.

Smullen gets the leg-up on Platinum Warrior in the opening Bar One Racing (C & G) Maiden, and this Mick Halford-trained colt looks to have solid claims after an encouraging debut effort at the Curragh in August.

Keane will be aboard The Kid Bobby B, and he also made a promising introduction at the Curragh in August, finishing eighth in the race won by Saxon Warrior.

Curly Girl is Keane's mount in the Bar One Racing 48 Shops Nationwide Maiden, and the daughter of Vale Of York might be able to go one place better after going down by just three-parts of a length on her last start at the all-weather venue.

Keane again looks to have the better ride in the first division of the Bar One Racing Double The Odds Goalscorer Special Handicap.

He will be aboard recent Laytown winner Silk Cravat in this seven-furlong contest, while Smullen takes the ride on Storm Ryker, who disappointed at Navan on his last start.

Both men appear to have solid claims in the second division. Keane will be aboard Melisandre for his boss Ger Lyons, while Smullen takes the ride on Betty Loch.

Lyons again provides Keane with his mount in the Bar One Racing Price Boosts Daily In Our Shops Fillies Maiden.

Lady Nathaniel, who has disappointed on her last two starts, is the horse in question, while Smullen will be aboard the twice-raced Muniza in this one-mile-two-furlong contest.

Smullen has stronger claims in the Bar One Racing Telebetting 1800 624 524 Maiden. He rides Alaykha, who has been placed three times from her four starts to date.

The current champion again appears to have the upper hand in the concluding two races.

He will be aboard recent Newcastle winner British Art in the first division of the Bar One Racing Telebetting 1800 624 524 Handicap, while Listowel runner-up Shoulda Lied is his mount in the concluding second heat.
