Treve is "ready to go" as the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot on Wednesday looms as the first trip to Britain for the brilliant Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine.

The Criquette Head-Maarek-trained four-year-old was surprisingly beaten on her seasonal return in the Prix Ganay at Longchamp in April by Cirrus Des Aigles, but her veteran conqueror has boosted the form in emphatic style since.

Frankie Dettori will ride in his role as number one jockey to owner Sheikh Joaan Al Thani's Al Shaqab Racing operation.

Speaking to Qipco British Champions Series, Head-Maarek reported the filly to have blossomed since that short-neck reverse.

She said: "She's very well and came back from the race well. We thought the race would have been very hard on her but it didn't look that way. She's fine and has been working well since, so we're ready to go.

"She ran well and there's no disgrace in getting beat - the horse (Cirrus Des Aigles) is very good and he proved it again in the Coronation Cup.

"She needed the race for sure. He had had two runs already this year so he was fitter than we were and that's why we got beat, because when she came to him she took the lead and then at the end she dropped a little bit. But it was the first time she had to battle and she did very well.

"Of course, when you get beat you always think if we did this differently, but I am not an excuse person - I don't like that and with racing, it's like that. Sometimes you get beat, sometimes you win, so there's no excuse."

She went on: "I'd love to train another winner at Ascot - we'll do the best we can and I am sure Frankie would love to win the race. To go to Ascot you have to have the best horses, so you don't have the chance every year to have a filly like her.

"It means a lot to me and I love Royal Ascot week, it's beautiful and something very special."

Fast ground is expected, but Head-Maarek said: "It was firm when she won the Prix Diane last year so that will not be a problem. She is easy, very relaxed and I don't think there will be any problem with her travelling."
