The Willie Mullins trained True Self arrived in Hong Kong last night in preparation for her up coming run in the Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Vase which takes place at Sha Tin racecourse on 8th December.

The six-year-old mare flew in from Australia where she raced twice in the last month. She finished a head second to Prince Of Arran in the Geelong Cup in October but then, having missed out on a spot in the Melbourne Cup, she landed the Queen Elizabeth Stakes on the big day at Flemington earlier this month.

The mare will face stiff opposition in the €2.3 million Hong Kong Vase where her rivals are likely to include Prince Of Arran, the Aidan O'Brien trained pair Anthony Van Dyck and Mount Everest along with Hong Kong star performer Exultant.

Exultant, formerly trained in Ireland by Michael Halford under the name Irishcorrespondent, won this race last year and has amassed career earnings of €5.3 million.

The Japanese trained globetrotter Deirdre is also an intended runner in the Hong Kong Vase. She finished three lengths off Magical in both the Irish and British Champion Stakes having previously landed a Group 1 prize at Goodwood in August.
