Impressive Thurles scorer Tully East is set to step up to Grade One level in the Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown.

A useful bumper performer - notably chasing home Identity Thief at Fairyhouse a couple of years ago - the Alan Fleming-trained six-year-old made a smart start to his jumping career in a maiden hurdle at last year's Listowel Festival.

He came up short in the Future Champions Novice Hurdle last Christmas, but finished an excellent fourth in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and looked the part on his debut over fences earlier this month.

Fleming said: " Tully East will have his next run in the Grade One at Leopardstown over Christmas. He has been great since Thurles.

"He has improved a nice bit and has been very well and happy in himself since. We will start upping his work now and get him ready for Christmas."
