Varian feels Postponed is 'in his prime' Roger Varian feels Postponed is reaching his prime as he prepares the Coronation Cup winner for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 23. Since winning the race last season when in the care of Luca Cumani, the son of Dubawi has gone unbeaten, with wins in France and Dubai also on his record. As low as even money in the betting for the mid-summer highlight, the Newmarket handler is delighted with his progression. "I thought he was very good in Dubai. I knew how much the Japanese thought of their horse (Duramente) in the Sheema Classic so that was a very strong performance," Varian told At The Races. "I think his price in the market suggested he was the most likely horse to win (the Coronation Cup) but you can never predict how they will win, if they win at all. We all know what can go wrong but we were all delighted. "He seems to be a horse in his prime and we're delighted to have him. "The King George fits nicely timing-wise. It gives us a little break now and plenty of time to get him to the King George, which is very much the plan."
