Walsh On The Sidelines

Ruby Walsh will be sidelined for a few weeks after chipping a bone in his elbow following a fall at Aintree.

The Irish jump jockey sustained the injury when taking a tumble from Ain´t That A Shame at the final flight in the Bonusprint European Breeders Fund 'National Hunt' Novices´ Hurdle at Aintree on Sunday.

'He´s had it checked out and he´s chipped a bone in his elbow. He will be out for a few weeks. We don´t know exactly how many but as soon as it´s better he´ll be back,' said Walsh´s sister and agent, Jennifer.

'He doesn´t need an operation. It will heal on its own.'

The first significant rides he misses are four at Cheltenham´s opening meeting of the season tomorrow, including three for Ditcheat trainer Paul Nicholls.
