Walsh picks up nine-day suspension Katie Walsh was hit with a nine-day ban after finishing runner-up on Cricklewood Green in the Shipseys Marquees Lady Riders' Handicap at Salisbury. Walsh's mount was sent off the 11-8 favourite for the mile contest but had to settle for second, beaten a head by 12-1 winner Al's Memory, ridden by Brodie Hampson. To add to her woes, the stewards' inquired into the use of the whip by Walsh from three furlongs out, ruling that she had used it above the permitted level. The dates of her suspension will be notified to her by the British Horseracing Authority.
