Carrying the colours of the Wear A Pink Ribbon Syndicate, the father-son combination of Colin and Gerard Keane managed to place this son of Churchill in the right race, and he duly rewarded them, holding on from the closing Truth Be Told (11/4) by a diminishing neck. Pre-race favourite Daboya became restless in the stalls and was withdrawn. Winning trainer Gerry Keane said "He's probably been the dearest horse we've ever had and has been overall disappointing, so I'm delighted to get his head in front. "He probably had an inflated rating from coming third in the Dante, and has come down about 20 pounds since we got him. "He probably parked a bit in front, and was waiting for them to come at him. He minds himself a bit and is a little bit soft, a bit cowardly. "I doubt he'll go to Galway, he didn't enjoy the hustle and bustle there last year. We'll look for flatter tracks like Killarney and Listowel, if we can find suitable races for him there.
