Warwick on Wednesday not to be missed The opener at Warwick tomorrow, the Warwick For Conferences 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle at 12.50 isn't to be missed as it features a clash between two potential top-notchers, Menorah and Ranjobaie. Menorah is now part of Philip Hobbs' 112 horse string, the King's Theatre gelding having come from Tom Mullins' yard after creating such an impression on his only appearance in a Naas bumper back in early August. The starting point of a great run of success in this sphere for Mullins, which later featured Some Slam, Tavern Times, Dr Whizz and Oscar Carrara, Menorah was well-touted on the Bank Holiday Monday and he didn't disappoint, sprinting away from over a furlong out under Patrick Mullins to account for Gentle Paddy by an easy ten lengths. Mullins described Eugene McDermott's four-year-old as "a special horse" in the aftermath of the win and his trainer now, Philip Hobbs has similarly spoken in glowing terms of his new acquisition. He is in the ownership of Diana & Grahame Whateley. Meanwhile Ranjobaie, a Highflyer Bloodstock acquisition from France, won all three of his bumper starts during the spring and summer at smaller tracks. He is said to have a great action and to have displayed a battling attitude in his races. He went into training at Nicky Henderson's in September and the Million In Mind owned son of Crillon is viewed as an exciting prospect. Barry Geraghty rides. The aforementioned Highflyer Bloodstock sponsor the four-year-old chase on the programme and the interesting one here is Recif De Thaix. This fellow is highly regarded by Paul Nicholls and Christian Williams will take the mount. Ruby Walsh is at Bangor to partner Massasoit and Free World.
