Weekend Lunch could be served at Ascot No Lunch will add a French flavour to proceedings at Ascot on Saturday when looking to extend his winning run in what could be a high-class running of the Ascot Shop Summer Mile Stakes. Christophe Ferland’s five-year-old has won 10 of his 18 career starts and will head on his raiding mission to Berkshire having brought up a six-timer when accounting for Seagulls Eleven in the Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud in May. Hugo Palmer’s charge, who could be in opposition once again, franked that form when winning the Diomed Stakes at Epsom and connections of No Lunch are eager to see how they fare as they take on some high-ranking opposition that could include Queen Anne runner-up, William Haggas’ More Thunder. Pierre-Yves Bureau, racing manager for owners the Wertheimer brothers, said: “If everything goes well this week he will make the trip to Ascot. “He is a good horse and he prefers good ground which is why he has been very good on the all-weather in France. “Last time we were happy with his performance where he showed his class when winning the Prix du Muguet. That was on good ground and that’s why Christophe has been looking for similar ground and hopefully Ascot will provide this. “He’s a good horse with a lot of quality and we don’t know the final field yet but it’s looking like it is going to be a serious group of horses. “You have those good horses who ran in the Queen Anne and then there is also horses like Jonquil. The entries suggest it’s a serious field, but we think we have a good horse and it will be interesting to see if he can go up another level.” We are thrilled to announce that video replays are now available to view on irishracing.com from all Irish racecourses, along with a selection of premier British tracks.
