Weld hoping ground safe for Concorde

Dermot Weld is hoping the ground remains good for Majestic Concorde in tomorrow's www.thetote.com Galway Plate.

The course at Ballybrit has been blessed with sunshine this evening and a decision will be made at nine tonight about watering the track.

Majestic Concorde is currently 10/1 second choice for the €200,000 chase. The Definite Article gelding was last seen when unseating in the Aintree Grand National.

That was his first start since landing the Paddy Power chase at Leopardstown's Christmas meeting.

“It's drying out rapidly and hopefully they get enough water on it to make it safe,” said Weld.

“He has it all to do off 11st 4lb. It looks an open Galway Plate and there could be a few horses well handicapped down the bottom.

“But he's very well and should run well.”
