Available at 7/1 early in the morning, Fixation was heavily backed off-course and duly landed some nice bets when winning the concluding Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap at Dundalk.

Making his debut for Johnny Murtagh, having finished second in a Leopardstown maiden for Nicky Stokes, the Tamayuz gelding went off the 5/4 favourite and raced in rear of mid-division under Ben Coen. Once in the straight, he powered home down the stands' side and got up close home to score by a neck from Tribal Moon

The chestnut three-year-old, owned by JP Murtagh Racing, was winning off an opening mark of 70 and Coen commented: "Tricky race, we didn't go much of a gallop. I had a wide draw, so I got a bit of cover.

"Travelled into the race nice, picked up. To be fair, the second horse made me work for it.

"He's not with us all that long, we liked what we saw at home so hopefully he can keep improving."
