Xerling gains maiden success under Browne McMonagle Trainer Natalia Lupini’s Xerling (4/9 — 4/5f) got off the mark on her fifth attempt at Cork today, landing the Follow Cork Racecourse On Social Media Maiden under recent English Oaks-winning jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle. Runner-up on a previous start in May, the Sioux Nation-filly today raced with the pace and finished well to score by 1.5 lengths from 76-rated Sparky Sparky . Lupini’s husband Craig Bryson reported “she ran a blinder on her first run of the season the last day, and she is very fast. She likes to get on with things so we kept it simple today and let her stride along. She won nicely. “She ran a nice race at Naas (last August) and then we went for a Listed race but should have just left her alone in maidens so we took out time this year. She had a nice first run back and hopefully she keeps progressing for Brendan (Cooney, from Roscommon), as she is homebred. The Cooney’s are good supporters of the game so it is nice to get a winner for them and with these fillies, we would love to eventually get some black-type.”
