Yielding ground at the Curragh The going at the Curragh has improved slightly over the last 24 hours and is now described as Yielding. Monday was a drying day at the Co. Kildare venue and only 0.2mm of rain fell overnight. Course manager Paul Hensey expects the conditions to remain more or less the same for the first Irish Classics of the season this weekend. Speaking yesterday Hensey said: "It was very wet on Sunday evening, but the ground was on the quicker side of good before the rain." "After 15.1mm it is yielding to soft now, but we've had a good drying day today so we're hoping it's heading back towards good. "There's another band of rain expected on Tuesday morning, Wednesday is nice but Thursday through to the weekend it's sunshine and showers. "If I had to guess I'd say it will be yielding ground at the weekend, on the slow side of good. "One thing is we don't have to worry about is watering."
