O’Sullivan has two darts to fire at Listowel feature In-form trainer Ross O’Sullivan runs two in today’s Kinisla Handicap Steeplechase at Listowel. The 45,000 euro contest is the feature event on day one of the Harvest Festival and will be run over just short of two and a quarter miles. Bythesametoken, owned by the Downtown Syndicate from Galway, was victorious at 16/1 under Danny Gilligan last year when carrying 10st 2lb. Lightly raced since, the veteran is 2lb higher in the ratings for this repeat bid and has just 2lb more to carry as well. “He’s in great old shape considering the age he is, he’s 12-years-old now,” said O’Sullivan, who has sent out three Flat winners in recent days. “He had a lovely run in Galway (fourth to Blood Destiny in the Lord Hemphill Memorial) and the plan was to go for this race. “We’d love a little bit more juice in the ground (good, good to yielding in places with a mainly dry forecast), I hope we get a little bit more rain. “I’m really looking forward to it. He doesn’t act his age, it’s not a bad little race but I think he’ll put on a good show. He could sneak into the places.” Successful in a rated novice at Clonmel in April, Coral River also represents O’Sullivan. The Rory Larkin-owned seven-year-old, who will be partnered by Donagh Meyler, was unplaced on handicap debut at the Punchestown festival and has been absent since.
